Great Caribbean Food in NJ. My first time trying did not disappoint! 4/5 stars The Curry Goat was the standout! The fact that they allow you to order meats by the pound is a definite plus. I also ordered the jerked chicken and pork. The great thing about it was both were super moist and flavorful. The only knock I would say is it lacked the grill/char I prefer on food that says "Jerked" Overall I enjoyed this very much, especially because it reminded me of the West Indian food I'd get in NY. DEFINITELY CHECK IT OUT
Wow, I am Jamaican me happy and my belly. From the second, we walked in our greeting, explaining the hot dish items the evening to spice level food, preparation, questions, all delivered with a smile. From first meal here, my wife decided to make sort of a combo which was curry, chicken and jerk chicken with white rice and mac & cheese, and I have to tell you everything was outstanding for me the curry chicken I felt was it a different night necessarily better but I loved it way more than the jerk chicken. Curry chicken fell right off the bone Arrows full of flavor it was moist for my dinner. I had the snapper brown stew the whole fish, and I had the cabbage vegetable on the side with plantains, and it was just cooked to perfection. Next time I go back, I have to try the ox tail .
The food is excellent there I have tried their soup several different days and it's always good.The beef chicken padAre excellent nice size very flavorful. I will check them out.
First time at Walker's today. This place did not disappoint. Delicious, authentic Jamaican food. The jerk chicken was on point. The plantains were tasty. The jerk chicken sauce should not be missed. The service was also on point, kind and quick.
Second time visiting today and the food was just as amazing as my first visit. The stewed chicken was flavorful, tender, and delicious. Large portions and the sides are delicious too. Pineapple ginger juice is awesome too. The lady at the counter is very personable, nice, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend checking out this awesome small business for some delicious Jamaican food!
So glad they finally opened. Had the curry goat, rice & peas & cabbage. The food was very good & hearty portions. Will definitely be back to try the ox tails. Keep up the good work Walker!
Great experience having lunch here. Server is very friendly and explained the food choices in the warming station. There are other options in back as well. We had the stew chicken and it was done perfectly. Meat was falling off the bone and the flavor was wonderful. Prices are good as well as the portion size. They are in their third month of business and I am hoping that they continue to stay here for a long time. Will definitely return often to try all their other options.
If you live anywhere in and around Mercer county, there's only one place to get Jamaican food. I've had chicken, pork, fish, fritters, goat soup, peanut porridge, pineapple juice, carrot juice! Look here man! It sell off. Weh mi seh! I've tried 4 different Jamaican restaurants around here in the last two years and I would put money on it that this is the best in town. Nordia and her mom offer excellent customer service in a clean environment. Don't take my word for it, try it.
